to be a precursor to catastrophic eruptions 'if' water from
the sea, or elsewhere, rushes into the main magma chamber.
"The level of lava inside the main crater of Kilauea, is falling.
this is bad, very bad for the people of Hawaii because as lava
levels fall inside the volcano, sea water from the long volcanic
tunnels which lead to the ocean, allows the sea water to pour
into these open cracks. When that sea water reaches the main
volcanic chamber and contacts the molten hot lava, the water
will instantly boil into steam, and that is when very bad things
begin to happen."
However the worst outcome from Kilauea is not the volcanic
eruption itself, it is the constant earthquake activity that may
cause a below sea level avalanche resulting in a super tsunami
to race across the Pacific, quickly inundating low lying areas,
including a number of populated areas like LA and SF.
