Funny how people who claim to be smart'n'educated'n'stuff can't grasp
the simple concept that storm damage costs have increased because there
is more stuff to damage, not because the storms are worse.

From NOAA "bn dollar events" data the average CPI-adj cost of
the major US landfalling tropical cyclones/hurricanes 1980-present:

Year Avg cost
($ mns)
1980 1905.8
1983 7710
1985 2895.87
1989 18719.8
1991 2810.4
1992 27391
1994 1717.4
1995 4252.4
1996 8161.5
1998 3985.6
1999 9931.4
2001 12271.7
2002 1568.4
2003 7568
2004 18290.8
2005 54451.4
2008 14781
2011 9123.8
2012 37630.7
2016 10600
2017 90091.5

MODEL:

y = 1068.5*x + -2.11956e+06
P(beta>0.000000) = 0.992279
calculated Spearman corr = 0.533766
Critical Spearman = 0.521000 2-sided at 1%; reject H0

IOW CPI-adjusted costs of landfalling cyclone have a 95%+ sig
trend according to both a parametric and a non-parametric test.

Price inflation typically runs a couple of points above population
growth because larger populations are the primary source of higher
demand and an therefore source of higher dollar-value prices aka inflation.

Didn't Roy Spencer invent global warming with Al Gore?

He's a socialist. Don't trust what he says.

I don't believe this hurricane bullshit. It's all a big money grab by the
socialists at Antifa.

Ferinstance lookie at this.

It's a lie by the same assholes who faked the moon landings.
