Electric Vehicle Sales Jump 67% In Europe - CleanTechnica EV ...
: After a couple of slow performances in previous months, in November,
: the European passenger plug-in market was back at cruising speed,
: with +31% year over year (YoY) sales.

This amounts to 2.4% of the market, btw.

Also: The story is pro EV propaganda, and yet it paints a vastly worse
picture than our autobot troll does here!

AND, this is in Europe were fuel prices are kept artificially extremely high.
So even with all the ARTIFICIAL advantages in the world, EVs are a tiny
segment of the car market. Chrysler sold more mini vans in the U.S., in
going by monthly average, then the top 3 or 5 selling EVs in Europe

The Dodge Caravan, specifically. They sold just over 150,000 units for
the year...

The truth is, just like Scotty said, EVs need a paradigm shift. They just
don't fit our culture and our economy. They do not. They're a stupid,
resources wasting "Answer" to a conservation problem. Fossil fuels are
actually GOOD at motor transport, there's BILLIONS upon billions of
gallons we could be saving in other ways -- just mandating tight fuel
economy standards on all vehicles (not exempting trucks) would take
us further than EVs -- and the crisis that all these lithium batteries is
creating is much worse than even nuclear waste.

Plus, EVs are just plain unnecessarily complicated. They're WAY
over engineered. A late 1970s EV, like the electric AMC Pacer, could
go 40 to 50 miles on a not-very-large-number of antiquated lead
acid batteries coupled to nearly half century old car technology.

...could you imagine building the same cars with modern batteries?
That alone should significantly boost its range. Then make it out of
modern light weight materials, monitor/control everything with
computers, swap out that huge, overweight transmission, make it
front wheel drive, saving all that weight from the drive shaft & live
rear axel, install a more efficient electric motor than they had in
the 1970s...

There's not a heck of a lot of changes that you make to a run of
the mill car, to turn it into an EV, that a gasoline powered car
wouldn't benefit from... i.e. make it light weight. The lighter it is,
the better the fuel economy!

So why are EVs so frigging complicated and expensive?

Guess. Go on, give it a whirl.
