Wind power is unreasonably expensive because back up coal plants are required, fully operational and ready to go which is almost as expensive as running them exccept for the coal. The cost of maintenace is high also to keep them at supposed capacity.
There are very few regions that have enough wind for any practical application. People that live near them don't like them and when they build power lines, imminent domain rules and no one, including encironmentalist, have any personal rights or say in the matter.
You sure can't run steel mills pr industrialized economy with wind mills.
The US puts out about 5 billion tons per yr of co2. Canada produces about 600 million tons per yr. They can play around with their cute little windmills if they want, but we will decide how to run an effective industrial ecconomy.
