The UAH has published its findings for Jul 2024. As announced on Roy
Spencer's blog nr the start of the month the atm 3-10km above MSL was
record hot for Jul at .85C above 1980s av temps. Like other data
series, the UAHLT6 has recorded a dozen months in a row with way above
prev record values.
Altogether 11 regions were so warm July scored in the top10 of all
months in the sat era. Despite a growing La Nina many regional temps
are stuck more than 1C above normal, with the good old S Hem (ICE AGE
ANY DAY NOW!) the warmest at 1.3C above what was normal for that
region in the 1980s.
The rankings against all months for each region looks like:
Region Rank Anom

NoExt 3 1.05 <- v warm
GlobeLand 4 1.18 <- v warm

NH 6 1.02 <- v warm
NHOcean 7 0.90
Trpcs 9 1.06 <- v warm
Globe 9 0.85

Comparing July 2024 against other Julys in the sat era shows the
majority of regions the UAH tracked set new record, with 9 >=1C above
normal. Even the atm above the SoPo was .66C above normal, ranking the
lowest of all regions at #10.

Breathing Fire: Wildfire Smoke Linked To Sharp Rise In Dementia Risk
Researchers found a 21% higher risk of dementia diagnosis for every
microgram per cubic meter increase in fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from
wildfire smoke in the air, measured over 3 years.
In 2023, Earth experienced its hottest year on record, and massive floods,
wildfires, and other climate-related disasters affected mns of people
around the world. Meanwhile, rapid and worrisome developments in the life
sciences and other disruptive technologies accelerated, while govts
made only feeble efforts to control them. [...]
Today, we once again set the Doomsday Clock at 90 seconds to midnight
because humanity continues to face an unprecedented level of danger.
Our decision should not be taken as a sign that the international
security situation has eased. Instead, leaders and citizens around the
world should take this statement as a stark warning and respond
urgently, as if today were the most dangerous moment in modern history.
Because it may well be.

[At 1 min to midnight pushing the apple cart over seems rational].
Finally, we suggest that 2024 is likely to be off the chart as the
warmest year on record. Without inside information, that would be a
dangerous prediction, but we proffer it because it is unlikely that
the current La Nina will continue a fourth year. Even a little futz of
an El Nino - like the tropical warming in 2018-19, which barely
qualified as an El Nino - should be sufficient for record global
temperature. A classical, strong El Nino in 2023-24 could push global
temperature to about +1.5°C relative to the 1880-1920 mean, which is
our estimate of preindustrial temperature.
